Bridging through the bridge

The Strand Block of Somerset House is a gateway, with the Courtauld’s galleries bridging over the main entrance off the Strand. We are cutting through the vaults at lower ground floor level to overcome this separation…which requires a temporary bridge to carry this thoroughfare while the new structure is formed.
